Founded by Emrecan Barut and Birol Barut, Mar Egeo brings together international perspective, real estate experience, property management background, and family roots in construction. The company was created to make the process of buying, building, improving, investing, and developing in Mexico easier to understand and easier to move through.

We support selected construction and development projects with material sourcing and steel-based solutions. Materials are treated as part of the project strategy, not as a separate afterthought.

Investment & Development Consulting
We work with investors, landowners, developers, and project partners to identify, structure, and support real estate and development opportunities in Mexico. Long term, Mar Egeo is also working toward its own development projects.

Community Work

We believe business should contribute to the places it grows from.

Mar Egeo is committed to supporting cultural, environmental, and community-based initiatives in Mexico. As part of this commitment, 10% of profits are donated to Los Mayas Eternos and other aligned organizations.

Our support is not only financial. We also work directly with community organizations through collaboration, visibility, volunteer efforts, and project-based support when possible.

Los Mayas Eternos is a non-profit organization focused on preserving Mayan cultural heritage and supporting sustainable community development. Through this relationship, we support initiatives connected to education, cultural preservation, local empowerment, and long-term community growth.

This work reflects one of Mar Egeo’s core beliefs: real estate, construction, and development should respect and support the communities that make each place meaningful.

Emrecan Barut

Co-Founder & Managing Director

Real estate strategist and project consultant with a background in psychology, Emrecan combines analytical insight with a passion for connecting people, ideas, and opportunities. His approach unites market intelligence, design sensibility, and strategic foresight to guide clients and investors toward meaningful real estate and development opportunities throughout Mexico’s coastal regions.

As founder of Mar Egeo, he leads the company’s mission to integrate real estate, construction, and materials under one vision of thoughtful growth and lasting value.

Birol Barut

Co-Founder & Construction Director

With over 15 years of international construction and project management experience, Birol is a master craftsman known for his technical expertise, precision, and creativity. His disciplined approach ensures that every structure reflects quality, efficiency, and integrity from foundation to finish.

At Mar Egeo, he oversees construction and renovation projects, bringing a wealth of practical knowledge and an unwavering commitment to building excellence that stands the test of time.
